VOTER REGISTRATION OUTREACH STUDENT INTERNSHIP
10 OR 20 HOURS A WEEK AND INCLUDES WEEKEND ACTIVITES
 
Supervisor of Elections Leon County Voter Registration Outreach Department (SOE) seeks quality-minded student intern to perform various voter registration outreach duties. These duties include tabling at community events; coordinating with voter registration branch sites, some data entry. Must have excellent communication skills and follow directions as provided. Must be a U.S. citizen, articulate, confident with the public, able and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary; have own transportation in order to transport voter registration materials, table and chairs when not provided by event. Must register or be registered to vote.

The primary focus of this internship is to use the ArcGIS extension ArcHydro to create hydro-enforced DEMs (Digital Elevation Model) for Leon County. ArcGIS table and geometry editing, interpretation of exisiting GIS data and aerial imagery/oblique aerial imagery analysis will be used by the intern to interpret how water flows across the landscape.
Any program where students either primarily use ArcGIS or are expected to have some understanding of GIS technology would be welcome to intern at TLCGIS. Specific training will be provided. Any IT, engineering or science related degree seekers who use GIS would be acceptable for this internship.
Currently Monday - Friday 7:15 AM - 5 PM are available days and hours to work.

The Job would entail working with Active Directory and directly on our servers.  We host applications for clients who virtually connect and have virtual workstations with us.  The majority of our clients use Quickbooks, so supporting Quickbooks users would be involved.  Working with MS Exchange clients would be involved as well.  We host a multitude of software's so it would be a learn as you experience.  We work from a Help Desk ticket system where technicians are assigned tickets to complete for the client and respond to the client if a more descriptive explanation of what error occurred is needed.  On occassion we will go onsite to sort out firewalls for clients or phone systems.  We're a partner with Cisco and offer phone systems as part of our services.  Any Cisco education is a plus.
Basic understanding of networks and how they function.

The Florida Attractions Association is seeking unique individuals to assist in meeting planning, communications and public relations for our Annual Conference and Trade Show.
We would like to fill the following positions:
 
·         Power Point Pro & Graphic Design intern;
·         Tech-savvy Video Production Ace and AV intern;
·         World-Class Meeting Planner Assistant;
·         Database Whiz to serve as the conference registrar
 
All Positions will include office duties and member services fulfillment, as required. Hours are flexible within a fixed schedule and will most likely increase during the month of May.  It is absolutely mandatory that this employee be available to work an out-of-town conference May 23-27. All Positions will include office duties and member services fulfillment, as required.

Required Skills and Background:
 
·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·         Strong attention to detail 
·         Strong organization skills
·         Creative and resourceful
·         Proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
·         Possesses excellent telephone etiquette
·         Must be able to carry/lift up to 30 pounds in order to assist with set-up and break down at the conference
·         A self-starter with a strong work-ethic
·         A team player who works well with others and can represent the association in a positive manner
·         Flexible and diplomatic
·         Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
·         Possesses integrity (trust is essential)
·         Passion to serve others
 
Desirable Skills and Background:
·         Experience working with web-based databases
·         Experience working with social media
·         Experience with photography and videography
·         Experience with graphic design
·         Experience with meeting and/or conference planning

Ideal candidate will be currently pursuing a degree in Business.  Must be dependable and responsible.  Must have excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills, computer knowledge, interpersonal, administrative and analytical skills.  Duties include organizing; filing; administrative responsibilities; entering and maintaining contract data in Excel; preparing invoices for international shipping; close out contract files; work with internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction; assist in annual inventory; confirm accuracy of orders in database. Must be eligible for certification by the BATFE and have a valid state driver's license.
Must be pursuing degree in Business.
20 hours per week between the business hours of 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Rubin Group is a governmental relations firm, which services clients in need of advice or guidance pertaining to State Legislative or State Executive agencies’ activities. The Rubin Group represents a vast array of clients on matters ranging from the modification of pending legislation to the acquisition of government contracts. If selected for the 2011 Session period you will gain a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the legislative process. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on House and Senate Committee meetings, which will cover a variety of topics. Additionally, you will cover Session and will be responsible for reporting and tracking specific legislation that is pertinent to our clients. Whether you are looking into career choices, or looking for a career position your hard work and enthusiasm can open many doors for you in the future.
A strong GPA and writing skills are a necessity and Graduate and Law students are encouraged to apply. 
There are two positions available with availability requirements of at least 20 hours a week.  Pay is competitive and we are specifically looking for individuals who primarily will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s.
